New Research and Practice Developments Symposium Friday 6 June 12.00-5.00pm at the Tavistock Center - Mothers Subject to Successive Removal of Infants and Children in Care Proceedings

There is growing national concern about birth mothers who appear and re-appear before the family court, losing successive children to public care and adoption. Establishing a national co-ordinated prevention agenda will bring clear benefits for birth mothers, their children and informal networks, as well as reducing demand on services.

This symposium is an opportunity to bring together the network that attended last year’s symposium and invite new interested professionals. This year’s symposium will present new research in this area and update on practice developments, with presentations from researchers and practitioners working in this challenging area. There will also be a focus on the loss and grief that affect this group of mothers.
