Infant Mental Health Awareness Week

This week is the UK’s first Infant Mental Health AwarenessWeek. The event runs from 6-10 June and aims to discuss factors that influence the mental wellbeing of babies and infants.

Several high-profile organisations are involved, including PIP UK, Public Health England, Royal College of Midwives and Institute of Health Visiting. Part of the campaign involves promoting the ‘The 1001 Critical Days’ manifesto, which highlights the importance of early intervention in the 1001 days between conception to age 2 to improve outcomes for children.

The Library has produced a list of publications related to infant mental health that you can view here. We’ll also be tweeting and retweeting content on our Twitter account @tapchat and posting on our Facebook page. You can join or follow the online conversation yourself with by using the hashtag #IMHAW16. If you find anything interesting or are holding a related event, please let us now.
