Tavistock and Portman leads the way with successful pilot of the Family Drug and Alcohol Court
The Government has announced funding for at least two new family courts specialising in substance misuse, following the successful London pilot of the Family Drug and Alcohol Court (FDAC) set up in 2008 by the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust and the children's charity, Coram.
Research in 2011 found that 39% of mothers who had been through the FDAC were reunited with their children, compared with 21% from a group going through conventional care proceedings.
